WEBSITE CHANGE OVER From Monday am the website will be unavailable whilst the new changeover is being completed, it should be back on line Tuesday, our apologies for any inconvenience caused. Further news and details regarding the new site will appear once we are up and running, CONGRATULATIONS Congratulations to 'Boro's Chris Makin who was part of Sunderland's victory win in the northern section of the masters tournament. Sunderland came out on top from Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Celtic, Rangers, Carlisle who also took part. Sunderland beat Middlesbrough on penalties in the final and now move onto the regional finals. The 'Boro' defender scored two goals and also converted his penalty in the shootout and Director of Football Gerry Luczka said, "I wondered where he was at training! Seriously Chris looked as if he enjoyed it and the pre-season work he has done with us will have helped, it means he will be missing again now for the finals!" PLAYER OF THE MONTH New for this coming season is the supporters 'Player of the Month' award, each month the supporters, directors and staff will all be asked to join together and nominate their player of the month and the player with the most votes will be presented with a prize after one of the home games in the club house, presented by a different nominated supporter each month who will also have their photograph taken. The opening month will be September and include the last two weeks in August, "It is another opportunity for the supporters to join in partnership with the club and choose a player who in their opinion has performed well during the nominated month, also it will be the supporters who will always present the prize." said Director of Football Gerry Luczka The winners and photos will feature in the match programme and on the clubs website. The club are hoping they will be able to organise a sponsor for this award which will cover the cost of the prizes for the months of September – April. SUPPORTERS MEETING A reminder to all supporters that there will be a 'General Club' meeting on Monday July 19th at the 'Boro Club' 7.00pm. This is a meeting which will provide the opportunity for all supporters to ask any open questions on any area of the club to the club officials, it will hopefully be a very informative meeting. The club are hoping that all supporters who would attend a normal home game will make the effort to attend. The club will only be holding two or three of these meetings a year, so please make every effort to attend. If you cannot attend but would like a question asked on the evening please send it to the club via the usual channels. DURHAM CITY FC AWAY TRIP The club have announced they will be providing a coach free of charge for all the clubs supporters to Durham City FC. The date has now been announced - Saturday 23rd October - and the club are asking supporters to book their places with a refundable £10.00 deposit to ensure commitment to the FREE booking. The club are aware this is by far the longest away trip and as such for the tremendous away support they have had in previous seasons, the club would like to make this gesture as a thank you.
